GOOD TO KNOW

A few clear answers.

Let’s make the technical terms a little simpler.

What is a QR code?

A QR code stores data such as a link, text or contact information in a two-dimensional pattern. A phone camera or compatible app reads the pattern to access its contents.

Where can I use it?

Use it on menus, business cards, posters, packaging or to share Wi-Fi credentials. The URL option can link to a publicly available file; the file itself is not embedded in the QR code.

Does it expire?

These static QR codes have no expiry date or scan quota. However, the encoded information can become outdated if the linked page disappears or your Wi-Fi password changes.

Can I change the contents after downloading?

The encoded data in a static QR code cannot be changed. Generate and distribute a new code when the data changes. You can still update your own webpage while keeping its URL unchanged.

Can a logo affect scanning?

Yes. Adding a logo enables high error correction and limits its size. This does not guarantee every scanner will read it; use a small logo, strong contrast and test on multiple phones.

What should I consider when changing the background?

Dark dots on a light, solid background are the safest choice. Low contrast keeps the preview available and shows a warning. Identical colors make the pattern indistinguishable from the background.

Which download format should I choose?

SVG is scalable vector artwork for design and print. PNG is a raster image at your selected resolution. PDF places the QR image on an A4 page. Uploaded logos are embedded into the SVG too.

Is my data stored or are scans tracked?

No. QR contents and logos are processed in your browser, never uploaded or stored by this tool. There is no scan tracking or redirect service. Opening a link is subject to the destination website’s own privacy practices.
