GOOD TO KNOW

A few clear answers.

Let’s make the technical terms a little simpler.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Images are read, resized and compressed in this browser. File contents and file names are not sent to a server or included in analytics events.

Which format should I choose?

JPG suits photos and broad compatibility. PNG supports transparency and lossless output. WebP is a balanced choice for the web. AVIF may produce smaller files but can take longer to encode. Check that the destination app supports your chosen format.

Can I resize a 10000-pixel image to 1500 pixels?

Yes. Set the longest edge to 1500 or enter width and height. Keeping the aspect ratio prevents stretching; batch images fit within the specified dimensions. Smaller images are not enlarged by default.

Why is there no PNG quality slider?

PNG is lossless. The tool optimizes its output without a lossy quality slider like JPG. Converting JPG to PNG does not restore lost detail or improve quality, and may increase file size. To reduce size further, resize the image or try another format such as WebP.

Are transparency and photo metadata preserved?

PNG, WebP and AVIF support transparency. Transparent areas become white in JPG. Images are re-encoded without copying the original EXIF location or camera metadata. Animation and HDR preservation are not supported; colors can change during standard 8-bit sRGB processing.

Will my file always get smaller?

No. An already optimized image can grow at a higher quality or in another format. We show the before/after sizes and actual savings. Your original file is never modified.

What are the batch and file limits?

Choose up to 10 images, 40 MB per file and 100 MB total. Images up to 64 megapixels are supported. Files are processed sequentially and results can be downloaded individually or as a ZIP. Some large files may exceed your device memory.
